Thank You Birds

I'm not quite ready to start making Christmas cards as it's still too warm, so thought I would make a couple of Thank You cards to keep ready for the right occasion.

They also used up some old images and papers from Making Cards Magazine that have been hanging around a while!

Covid Hits

Sorry I haven't posted for a while, but covid finally caught up with me. At first I thought it was a bad cold as the first test was negative. I had a really bad sore throat, which meant living on honey, strepsils and ice cream for several days. Thankfully back to full health now.

This meant that the latest issue of Making Cards Mag has only just been used.

The bright, sunny holiday themes made me feel quite cheerful again!

Making Cards - Crazy Cats

I love the fun images from the 'Crazy Cats' range that are free with the May/June issue of of Making Cards & Papercraft magazine.

I couldn't wait to make some new cards when the latest issue appeared in the post.

The 'pretty as a picture' images and backing papers are cute too, so I will be using them for my next few cards!

Piles of Papers

I keep the unused parts of freebie paper sets from magazines in poly pockets in 4 ring binder files. They are roughly divided into Vintage, Modern,  Men's and Animal & Bird themes.

All this extra time has made me go through and try to use some up! These 2 Good Luck cards use the Up and Away set from May 2015 edition of Making Cards.

Whilst these pretty fairy cards come from an old freebie from Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine - however I still have dozens of sets to go through, at least it helps to pass the time whilst staying at home.

Loads of Llamas

I've had these llama and cactus background papers for a year ( from April 2017 issue of Making Cards) and when I saw a sheet of cute Llama and cactus stickers this morning, I though they would be a great way of using them up!

They were only 99p in The Range and come in bright zingy colours!

So, another small dent in the stash made!

Making Cards Magazine

I wasn't going to buy any more Christmas Stash but spotted the Christmas Special edition of Making Cards Magazine - it has some cute animal stamps.
But before I break open the stamps, I've made some Christmas cards with the freebie papers!

Lucky win!

I've been away on a 2 week holiday to Greece and came back to discover I had won 2 sets of  Clearly Whimsy Stamps from Making Cards Magazine.

Once I have finished all the washing and stocked up the fridge, I will have a play with them!

Making Cards Magazine

I treated myself to Aprils edition of Making Cards Magazine this week.

I wasn't sure about the quirky South American  Llama and Cactus designs on the free papers, but once I got them out and and had a play, found that they were quite fun!
Makes a change from the usual floral and butterflies style that I usually gravitate towards!

Day 8 - March ATC Challenge, a Chandelier

I would love an elegant chandelier such as this one - unfortunately I don't think it would sit well in my 1930's semi!

This image comes from an 3 year old copy of Making Cards Magazine - see, I knew it come in useful one day!

This weeks cards..

I treated myself to a copy of July's edition Making Cards Magazine that I haven't bought for ages - I like the fact that the free papers are now separate and not bound in the magazine!

Here's a few cards made with the free images and papers

This week I was pleased to sell 6 cards and pick up 2 commissions at work - helps to justify buying more stash, doesn't it?

Scraps Away!

I have several folders full of those poly pockets containing the left over pieces from various collections of papers - many of which were freebies from different magazines.

The stickers and scraps of papers for these 3 cards, I think, were from a Making Cards Magazine collection - probably at least 2 or 3 years old!

I challenged myself to use them all up and after a bit of playing around, found they toned nicely with some large Papermania Capsule die cut flower shapes (which had been kicking around for a while too!) - so that just leaves about 30 more pockets of scraps to use up!!

Lucky Me!

I was lucky enough today to win a free NitWit Potting Shed  download from Papercraft Essentials today - I love Nitwits and have several of their digital collections already.

Then I was told that a card of mine has been picked as the Star Card in the latest edition of Making Cards Magazine! As good things come in threes, I ought to rush out and buy a lottery ticket !!

Roll Up, Roll Up to the Circus..

I bought the July edition on Making Cards Magazine just because of these circus themed papers. They are designed by Nancy Watt and called Fun at the Circus  - they are very bright, aren't they?

Something a bit different I thought from the usual, flowers, butterflies and  cute & cuddly stuff around at the moment. The Bunting works well with the Big Top theme to the papers too.

More Birdcages and Chandeliers

More cards made with the lush papers papers from Making Cards magazine,

I'm crafting while I can because tomorrow we are starting to fit a new bathroom, everything is being torn out and replaced from top to bottom - I'm expecting lots of mess and dust over the next few days!

I love Saturday afternoons!

...because I normally get some time to craft! Hubby is watching football, son out visiting mates, daughter playing with her toys and the 3 cats are fast asleep.

I had to go into town to buy daughter a Brownie uniform this morning as she enrols soon and guess what .....the uniforms are sold in my local craft shop! The latest edition of Making Cards magazine fell into my basket as it has these lovely bird cage and chandelier papers in it. I also stocked up on double sided tapes as you can never have too much of the stuff, can you?

A cup of Tea and Piece of Cake!

These yummy papers are free with this months Papercraft Essentials magazine.

I highlighted the icing on the slices of cake with a bit of stickles glitter and used some of the ribbons and bows that I bought in The Range last week to embellish the cards - and they have made me so hungry, I fancy a piece of Victoria sponge now!!!

Molly Blooms Freebie Stamp Cards

I'm just loving the cute Molly Bloom stamps given away free with this months Simply Cards & Papercraft Magazine! I couldn't wait to ink them up and get out the promarkers.

The Sunflower and picket fence are from Papermania and I have been waiting for inspiration to strike so that I could use them in a card.
