Three Little Dots ...

I've just realised that so many of my hand made cards have something in common - 3 little dots as embellishments! Usually mine are made from liquid pearls or card candi and I try to use co-ordinating colours.

They seem to finish off a card and stop areas from looking a bit plain. Often I have them in opposite corners to counter balance each other

Can anyone explain why 3 look better than 2 or 4 dots?

Does anyone else have a' trademark' that appears on most of their cards?

  1. hi Dawn, in nature there are always odd numbers, 3/5/7 etc so it is aesthetically better to use odd numbers in crafting even if you never knew why. your cards are gorgeous, happy crafting, Fi x

  2. Odd numbers look more natural, they are good Feng Shui. I always use 3, 5 or 7.

  7. Hi, you're right three does look better than two or four. Fab cards by the way! My trademark? Hmmm, I don't like leaving white edges, but you probably wouldn't notice! Maddy x

  8. Odd numbers of things always look better than even, same is true for flowers and cake decorating! I often use 3 gems, sometimes I shake it up and make the middle one bigger!!! Nice post, Alizabethy.

  11. Beautiful cards. I will be looking out for the three gems on your projects now. I always plant flowers in three's or fives, never an even number and the same with my embellishments.
