Playing with my new toy

Yes, I have spent the weekend playing with my new Big Shot Plus - I've been digging out embossing folders that I haven't used for years and rediscovering lots of dies too!

All my stamps have been put away, whilst I concentrate on getting the most out of my new machine!

My New Big Shot Plus

It's my birthday soon, so my husband has treated me to a Big Shot Plus to replace my faithful old Cuttlebug.

I had to try it out straight away - this Arboscello Tree die by Memory Box never cut very well on the Cuttlebug, but came out a treat on the Big Shot

I also bought issue 42 of the Tattered Lace Magazine because I loved this Cherry Blossom free die. Expect to see lots more die cuts on future cards!!

Little Wooden Houses

I bought these cute little wooden houses from from The Works - 20 for only £2!

My first  card using them - Happiness is .... a New Home!

PS I made £43 selling cards at work today for Vasculitis UK.

What Shape do You Prefer?

What shape do you make most of your cards in - do you prefer square, the long DL, C6 or more unusual shapes?

I find most of mine are the rectangular C6 size (4 x 6 inches), but sometimes the design leads to a square or tall card.

I have tried to make a few stepper cards - but just find them too fiddly!

Charity Cards

I get carried away and make so many cards, that I often donate some to charity. Recently they have gone to the local hospice and animal rescue charities, but at the moment I am making some for Vasculitus UK, as a friend at work suffers from this nasty illness and often has to send weeks in hospital when it flares up.

Its one of those diseases that is difficult to diagnose because it has so many different symptoms and can change peoples lives forever.

We are holding a fund raising event next week and while everybody else will be baking cakes and scones, I will be selling my cards!
