Cuttlebug & Blossom Nesties

I'm having a play with my Cuttlebug, so embossed the cream card with swiss dots then layered a coffee coloured co'ordination paper over it. I then made a little flower using the blossom 2 nestie set which has been sitting unused at the bottom of my stash for ages!

I've just had a Chinese takeaway and I shall now sit back with a bottle of wine and wait for the new year fireworks

Happy New Year to you all!

Using up Scraps - Serendipity ATC's

Like most card makers, I have loads of odd scraps of paper but found an idea of how to use them up making serendipity paper at the Go Make Something blog. This is my version made with a green theme, bits stuck randomly then stamped with a large script stamp in red.

I then embossed a flower stamp in silver and swirl stamp with green glitter embossing powder before cutting the paper into ATC shapes (2.5 x 3.5 inches).

I then raided my stash for odd pieces to embellish them and voila - some unique OOAK ATCS ready to swap - great fun!

Popcorn the Bear Mens Collection Cards

I finally got around to using the free papers that came with last months Papercraft Essentials magazine - Popcorn the Bear Platinum mens collections. They will make great cards for any gardeners although they are a bit too cute.

I've got to start packing away all my craft stuff now or their won't be room on the table for Christmas meals! I'm hoping Santas going to leave me some money so I can treat myself to a few crafting goodies - I'm not sure I trust him to buy the right bits.

Starting to build up a stockpile again

Having concentrated on Christmas cards for so long, my store of general cards is rather depleted . I won a set of sentiment stamps from Woodward in a magazine giveaway so I am going to start making some general cards to keep in reserve. This is my first attempt!

Getting back into ATC's!

After spending the last 3 months immersed in Christmas cards I feel the need for change and so an making some atcs for the swaps on Docrafts. These 2 are for the butterfly bling swap that closes at the end of December but with the weather, I thought I had better get them off soon.

It's A Vintage Christmas

Yet another - and probably one of my last - christmas card with a vintage theme. I just love the 2 little girls sewing up holes in their stockings so the presents don't fall out. Can't believe that any children nowadays would do that!

Well most of my cards are written, presents wrapped and the freezer is filled - and I hope you all are prepared for Christmas too. All I want is for the snow to disappear by Sunday so that I can make the 4 hour trip to my sisters to drop off her presents!

A different colour scheme...

for a change - pale blue and pink. This is one of those cards that has been put together with left over bits and pieces. Go and have a look at Prairie Fairy blog, she has moved back to blogger and is offering some fab goodies as candy. It closes on Christmas Eve - what a Christmas treat for the winners!

Christmas Wren

My mother just loves wrens and had a large collection of them - figurines that is, not real ones. So her Christmas card just had to feature a wren on it, didn't it!

I teamed up the photo with more of my gold snowflakes and swirls on a rich red background.

Just the Weather for Penguins!

Despite taking a couple of days leave from work because of the weather, I haven't been in the mood for crafting until now. Instead I sorted out daughters bedroom and 'lost' some toys to make room for the ones that Santa might bring!

This is a cute digi image of penguins coloured with promarkers and layered against snowflake paper with additional snowflake brads scattered around. I'm going to enter it into the Winter Wonderland penguin and polar bear challenge.

Just Hangin' Around Waiting for Santa

Another card inspired by the aptly named Inspirational Card Sketches blog (ICS #92). This has a diagonal shaped background paper which I have never tried before but works quite well!

It also used some more of my golden snowflakes and swirls that I cut out earlier.

Puddy Cat Christmas

This image looks a bit like our kitten Moxxi, who is very mischievous and inquisitive.

I know he won't be able to resist climbing up the Christmas tree and playing with the baubles when we get them out!

I just couldn't resist it!

I know this was on my wish list for Santa but Christmas is still a long way off any I can't wait that long - it's pay day today and I just happened (!) to be passing a craft shop and this Marianne Creatable die of a bird on a branch leapt into the basket.

So, of course, I just had to try it out straight away and made this CRAFTRAK card to send on to Crissie in Gloucestershire as a RAK

There is a new challenge site starting up and Crafty Hazelnut has some fab christmas papers as a candy to entice you over

Bentley Bear Christmas Card

This little fairy ted is one of the cute Bentley bear chipboard figures that was free with Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine. I have teamed her with some of my golden snowflakes and swirls against burgundy background papers. I just counted up and I now have made 60 Christmas cards - which is just about how many I need. But that won't stop me making more!

Recycled Snowflakes

At Mid Suffolk District Council we are holding a sports ceremony soon where we are handing out framed certificates. Each of the frames came with gold coloured card corner protectors , which of course I snaffled - so this morning I have been cutting out swirls and snowflakes with my marianne dies and Cuttlebug.

Not bad from triangular scraps of card are they? I'm sure these will come in very useful.

Don't forget to pop over to Charity Crafters blog where there is a huge pile of candy in memory of a special crafter - Amanda. This closes on 26th Nov.

Simple Christmas Tree Card

Just a Quick and easy christmas tree card using free papers from a Magazine - can't remember which, perhaps Creative cards? Had to stop the kittens walking all over it - why do they always want to sit on the card you are working on ????

Hanglar Christmas Card

Another Christmas card with a cute hanglar girl and layered against blue Trimcraft Winter Wonderland papers from last year - see I told you I had a lot of stash to use up!

Inspirational Card Sketches

Well, the Inspirational Card Sketches blog certainly lived up to its name as it made me route through my stash to come up with this card based on their circular sketch #90 - it not something that I would have come up with without their help - its even got a bit of recycled chocolate box ribbon on it!

Polar Bears

I just love this cute stamp of 2 polar bears sitting together staring at the stars. I bought it last year in a bargain bin for only 99p. I've teamed it with black with red and white polka dots for a bit of a contrast.

I am try hard not to buy any more Christmas stash as I have so much still left over from last year!

Black & Gold Christmas Card

Black outline sticker against a gold patterned piece of vellum and I just doodled some stitching around the edge as a border - another quick and easy card!

Three Little Robins

Just found this cute stamp of 3 little Christmas robins perched in a branch which was free from a magazine last year (can't remember which!).

After a bit of a hectic day at work I finally managed to sit down at 9pm for a bit of crafting to unwind, but must go off to bed now so can't start making my more cards!

A Gorjuss Card

I just love these gorjuss girl with a polar bear images in the beautiful sea green colours - she is sooo sweet and they help to make a really eye catching and different Christmas card!

In The Christmas Spirit!

I've been in the Christmas spirit recently and made loads of cards. I've finished my general ones but still have to make those special, close relative ones, which I find a bit harder - especially the menfolk.

I'm now off for a short break to Somerset for half term - leaving No 1 son in charge of the cats and goldfish.

I will be keeping an eye out for any craft shops on my travels!

Hanglar Christmas Card

The cold snap and central heating puts me in the mood for making Christmas cards!
This Hanglar stamp is coloured with my trusty promarker pens and the card is embellished with tattered roses in 2 corners

It's a traditional Christmas!

So far most of the Christmas cards I have made this year have had a modern colour scheme such as pale blue and lilac or pink and lime green. They are also a bit cute and sparkly. But I need to make some more traditional cards for the older members of my family. I thought these Kanban robins were ideal!

Congratulations to the blog winner

Using the very low tech method of bits of paper with everyones number written on it, I drew no 16 out of the hat - so congratulations to Rosalee M from Canada!

Please let me know your address so I can get your goodies off to you!

Like most people I am now in the middle of making loads of Christmas cards - I am giving most of them to a local cancer charity to help with their fund raising. So far I have made 65 for them.

Hanglar Happy Christmas

I had a bit of a colouring in session yesterday - I printed off and stamped loads of Christmas images and then had a play with my promarker pens.

I just chose a few colour combos, then hoped I had some matching papers somewhere!

These Hanglar girls were the first to be finished off, still have lots more to do.

My Grandad will be 100 years old!

I can't believe my Grandad will be 100 years old soon. He is an amazing man who still lives on his own and loves growing his own fruit and vegetables. He even has a girlfriend from the nearby old folks home! On the other side of the family, my grandmother just celebrated her 95th birthday so I hope I have inherited their genes.

Charity Cards off to a good home

Like many of you, I make far too many cards for my own use so I advertised them on my local Freecycle site to see if any charity or community group would like them to help with fund-raising. So now the local Womans Refuge, Childrens kids club and MacMillian Nurses will be getting 25 each to help them.

Jade & Teal!

I really got into using the Jade/Teal colour scheme - particularly with brown or rusty reds. This one uses a piece of recycled jade coloured card which was originally a folder from work. I run this through the Cuttlebug and layered it with Kaiser craft Gypsy sisters die cuts and a marianne designs flower

Teal Blog Candy for Ovarian Cancer

I have only just stumbled upon this, but Sue has a fab pile of candy if you can help her with her fund raising for Ovarian cancer - she is asking for cards made with a teal colour scheme for a craft event next week - so you must post them off to her quickly!

These are the ones I am going to send her and I hope she raises loads of dosh for such a good cause!

A Couple of Christmas Nitwits

I've decided that this year I'm going to use a pale blue and purple colour scheme for most of my Christmas cards - mainly because of these fab NitWit papers that are free with Simply Cards & Papercraft magazine. I also have downloaded a NitWit Great Expectations kit which is ideal for any New Baby cards. I'm also tempted by their Gone Fishing and Halloween Hooligan collections as well!

Hanglar/Spring Fling Session!

Often I don't have clue how my cards will turn out - I just grab an image or paper and have a play.

But today I was organised and decided to use these lush Spring Fling papers by the Wild Rose Studio that I got from Debbis candy giveaway and team them up with 3 cute Hangler girls. Coloured with my new promarker pens of course.

I think the sitting girl card is a bit too 'busy' but hopefully someone will like her.

Thank You Debbi - Wiccababe

The Blog Candy I won from Debbi arrived today in 2 parcels! There were Sugar Nellie stamps stamps, yummy papers, stickers, gorgeous charms and of course, 20 different promarker pens!

All thought of housework was banished and I dived in to use them and the first card I had to make was to thank Debbi herself. These goodies will keep me busy for ages.

Lili of the Valley Cat

I just love these cute little Lili of the Valley die cut cats, this is the last of them so I think a shopping trip to get some more is called for!

My Grandmother is 95!

My Grandmother, or Special Nannie as we call her, will be 95 years old this week. She is an amazing lady who still lives on her own. Apart from a bit of deafness and forgetfulness she is in really good health and enjoys a glass of Baileys every now and then!
Happy Birthday Special Nannie!
