Cards with Gilding Flakes

Whilst I enjoy the effect gilding flakes have on the cards - the whole stamping procedure is a bit of a faff!

You have to be organised, with a bowl of warm water ready to immerse the stamps in as soon as you have finished - cos you must get all the flitterglu off asap

Also the flakes float around all over the place and are hard to keep in their containers and the buffing makes so much dust!

So, I really have to be in the mood for a session with gilding flakes

These cards are made with both by Indigo Blu and Cosmic Shimmer flakes.

  1. Hi all your cards are gorgeous. I agree that gilding flakes are hard to use but worth the effort when we do. Have a great evening. Take care. Hugs Jackie

  2. I have the same relationship with gilding flakes that you do, find them messy and a faff, but I love the end results. I may just get mine out to play again now though, thanks for the nudge Dawn :) Hugs - Debs x

  3. Gorgeous set of cards, bet when the light hits the gilding its wonderful. I also find them super messy and seem to get everywhere, nearly as bad as glitter where the cat and her fur were concerned! lol Emma

  4. Beautiful cards. I love gilding flakes but feel the same as you about them. The final effect is definitely worth it on your cards. Cathy x

  8. Gorgeous set of cards. I love the effect of gilding flakes but I agree with you, they are a bit of a hassle. However, I may give them a try again if I have several cards like this to do in one go. Happy New Year to you x
