Heat Embossing on vellum

I haven't done any heat embossing for over 2 years, in fact I struggled to find my embossing powders and ink pads in my craft room - and I very rarely use vellum on my cards.

However, I did make a lovely card using white embossing powder on clear velum at the recent Honey Doo workshop that I attended and thought it was time to have a go at home. I found some patterned vellum that has been sitting at the bottom of a pile for well over 5 years.  I was pleased how the gold on the red vellum came out  - would look good on a Christmas card too.

The pearly white  leaves on the green was more subtle, but still made a nice texture. I tried to also do some flowers, but that was not a success and they ended up in the bin!

Easily Distracted!

I was searching for something else, when I came across these gold and silver pots of Starlight paints from Imagination Crafts which I bought back in Summer 2016! I was going to do some embossing but ended up painting instead.

They have only been used a couple of times, so it seemed a good idea to paint some wooden shapes. The heart and cats will end up on the Christmas tree, the sparkly reindeer in cards and I'm not sure what to do with the golden  sheep shape!

Day 27, March ATC Challenge - A Little bit of vintage

I've heat embossed the letter background in gold using a very old and neglected stamp to help offset the purple flower. Finished off with a couple of  contrasting brads in the corner

Golden Reindeer

I loved the cute metal reindeer stencil that came free with  Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine, I don't use stencils very often, but sprayed it with gold Cosmic Shimmer Mist to get the outline for this card with a dot of  ruby red liquid pearls for his nose.

I've also been approached by 2 local charities to make some Christmas Cards for them - so it looks like I will be able to make a bit of a dent in my Christmas Stash - I have papers and embellishments that must be at least 5 years old in there!
