Wren with Blackberries

This card was made with a very old stamp of a wren which has been lurking at the back of the basket for a long time - its made by Jayne Netley Mayhew.

It's layered against some lovely soft pink roses background papers with a hot pink ribbon. I enjoyed making something that didn't involve glitter, snowmen or reindeer!

It Pays to Plan Ahead!

I knew that I would be out of action craftwise for 10 days whilst we had the lounge decorated - what I didn't realize is that they would uncover several problems when they started that would lead to lots more building work, including a new floor and skirting boards - most of our furniture has had to go into storage!

Here we are over 3 weeks later and they still have not got round to painting the walls yet. Luckily I has made my Mothers birthday card in advance, unluckily I hadn't made a Mothers Day card for her. Being optimistic, I hope that everything will return from storage before then!!

Kanban Birds

I took a trip to Bury St Edmunds today and just had to pop into the 2 very good craft shops there! I picked up some great sentiments and colour-me ovals from Craftwork cards and this set of bird toppers from Kanban. My mother loves wrens and so the orange card will be for her birthday later this month. I am taking her on a weekend trip to London to see the Titanic artifacts exhibition at the O2!

Jayne Netley Mayhew Wren Stamp

Yes, its that Jayne Netley Mayhew stamp of a wren again. This must be the 6th or 7th card I have made with it and this time I've teamed it up with the free Kate Knight papers from Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine which match the blackberries so well! I'm still getting to grips with the new designs on the docraft website, most things seem to take longer to do but there are more choices and flexibility on postings and searchings. If you have the time I recommend you hop over to the Cats Whiskers blog to look at the Just Magnolia Challenge - I love that bute little frog!

My Mums Wren Card

Had some time to myself today so have managed to make my Mothers birthday card - she loves wrens and her house is just full of pictures and china ornaments of them - so I hope she likes this! The background is from this months Making cards magazine designed by Nancy Watts and the bird stamp is a new release from Jayne Netley Mayhew

New Jayne Netley Mayhew Wren

My mother loves wrens and she collects these china birds, so when I saw this new stamp by Jayne Netley Mayhew I just had to have it! Her birthday is in March so I have a bit of time to experiment with it before I make her birthday card.
