Sentiments - Going Large!

 

I bought the Hunkydory Big Book of Festive Centrepiece Sentiments on my last visit to Craftmania and it has proved very useful!

It is an ideal way to use up some of those busy patterned background papers that don't really match any toppers or stamps

Using a big bow salvaged from last years Christmas crackers, also distracts from the background too.

Most of these cards have a ribbon to draw the eye towards the sentiments

And the sprig of holly die that I bought 5 years ago at The Works features in several cards as well!

Embossed Christmas

 

This embossing folder was a freebie with a magazine ages ago and has not been used much. The sprig of holly die was bought back in Nov 2021, and was used for a couple of years and then forgotten about. 

So I have teamed them up together to make some quick and easy Christmas cards for this year

Using slightly different colour schemes for them and the embellishments

Desite having piles of Christmas stash, I couldn't resist this little cutting die from The Works - it was only £2, and I have cut out about 20 of these already

They look great added as a corner embellishment

also cut out of patterned paper with coloured berries

added to a recycled Christmas card from last year

...and of course, cut out in gold and paired with my festive tiger! 

Paper Cuts - Holly Berry Die

 

A while ago I bought this Holly Berry die from Creative Expressions, so now its time to make some Christmas cards with it!

This one just uses a burgundy and gold mat with matching ribbon to set it off

Whilst this uses a vintage printed vellum ( that I have had for years!) with some Nuvo drops to highlight the berries. Three different cards in different colour schemes and styles to show how versatile it can be!

A Sprig of Holly

One of my favourite embellishments at the moment is a little felt sprig of holly - I have bought 2 packets so far from Hobbycraft. 

They seem to fill up an empty space or add a bit of texture and dimension to many different styles of Christmas cards.
